Purpose

TinyMail lets you create temporary email addresses to receive messages without registering an account. Its main purposes are testing email flows (OTPs, confirmations, transactional messages) and keeping your primary inbox off advertising lists.

Receive-only architecture

TinyMail only receives email over SMTP for domains that have been added and whose MX records point to mx.tinymail.live. The service does not send email, reply to messages, or provide an SMTP relay.

The web interface and REST API read received messages. Message lists return metadata only; full content is available when reading an individual message.

Public inboxes

Inboxes have no passwords. Anyone who knows or guesses an address can read or delete its messages, including through the API. Do not use TinyMail to receive secrets, long-term passwords, or sensitive personal data.

Retention and deletion

Emails are automatically deleted after 3 days. Inactive domains may also be cleaned up on the same retention cycle. Each inbox has a message limit; the system also limits message size, recipients per message, and total storage.

The 3-day period applies to the live service. Backups may retain copies longer; this is not a guarantee of permanent deletion from every copy.

Custom-domain inboxes are public too. Third-party services may block temporary email addresses, including custom domains; acceptance and delivery are not guaranteed.
